For many years now WeAreChange has done everything in its power to bring much needed attention to the secretive and elusive Bilderberg Group. We have been detained, threatened, interrogated, followed and harassed for covering the meetings and questioning its members. In the face of all the intimidation we stood strong, never backed down and continued to speak truth to power.
Our work is not easy since we have no bosses or financial backers, only you. We have sacrificed many times, slept on floors or outside on the street, bum rides. We do everything on a shoestring budget and cut every corner we can to save money.
We love what we do and wish to continue our work and cover this year’s meeting in the U.K. and only with your help we can do so. If we are lucky enough to have your support, we would ask for your donations in order to document this year’s meeting, make video reports, investigate what happens and provide live video coverage.
The donations would cover airplane tickets, video equipment and the costs to operate a live video feed during the Bilderberg meeting. We estimate that we need around $3,000 to cover 2 airplane tickets, local transportation, video equipment and internet service for the live video feed.

OUR PAST COVERAGE
2011: In Switzerland we were lucky enough to get a ride from the airport by someone we never met before and then crash with members of WeAreChange Switzerland. During our coverage we were detained and had our passports taken away for 30 minutes because we would not stop filming. We were threatened again many times with arrest and deportation while filming and followed by a police car everywhere we went. We were able to meet and interview 2 Swiss parliamentary members who became outspoken about the Bilderberg meeting after hearing about the suppression of the press. They wrote official letters to the police and the intimidation stopped immediately. We were then able to confront the CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt.
2012: In Virginia, we stayed at a friend’s house and every day of the meeting provided live video coverage of the protest, some times for over 12 hours without break. We released 12 never before seen confrontations with top Bilderberg members. We documented the arrest of protestors and help aid them in their court proceedings with video evidence. After the meeting, we were able to secretly take a picture of Bilderberg group organizers, which got us scolded by security and kicked off the premises.

Police Arrest Hacker & Delete Camera Footage, Hacker Gets It Back

WeAreChange recently got a chance to meet up with Alex from Federal Jack and Hack Miami, to get the full story of his arrest and destruction of evidence by the Miami Police Department. Alex was arrested for merely filming the police in Miami, the police later illegally deleted the footage from Alex’s camera and charged him with resisting arrest. The Miami Police officer who made the arrest, Richard Anastasi was later found guilty of extortion and kidnapping in a separate case.

Iraq and Afghanistan Veteran, Popeye talks about his experiences with Veteran Affairs and some of the mistreatment that happened to himself and to others. Due to unsanitary equipment and procedures, the Miami VA hospital put numerous veterans health and lives in danger. Popeye also talks about problems with Veterans Affairs in general and a solution to the crisis we’re seeing our country in.

Hey everyone, please take a moment to read the following about a friend of mine who is being held on a provisional arrest warrant issued by the U.S. Attorney’s office for bogus charges dating all the way from back at the 2010 G20 in Toronto! As the following states, Dane is a dedicated social justice advocate, humanitarian aid volunteer, and student. He has spent the past several years in Arizona providing humanitarian relief on the US/Mexico border, and organizing against racist profiling laws and mass incarceration. Early on the morning of Thursday, February 21st, U.S. Marshals arrested Dane Rossman at his home in Tucson, AZ on a provisional arrest warrant issued by the U.S. Attorney’s office, acting on a Canadian extradition request. Dane is one of five Americans sought in Canada for alleged offenses stemming from the G20 summit.
On June 26th and 27th, 2010, tens of thousands of individuals gathered in Toronto to protest the G20 summit. The G20 is a group of finance ministers and central bank governors from nineteen powerful countries plus the European Union. During the 2010 summit, Canadian authorities specifically targeted people involved in migrant justice, indigenous solidarity and anarchist organizing for prosecution. Dane was arrested along with over 1,100 other protesters in the largest mass arrest in Canada’s history. He was processed and released without charges. Now, three years later, he is facing three charges related to alleged property damage.
Dane is a dedicated social justice advocate, humanitarian aid volunteer, and student. He has spent the past several years in Arizona providing humanitarian relief on the US/Mexico border, and organizing against racist profiling laws and mass incarceration.
The extradition of an individual from the U.S. to Canada for property damage is almost unheard of. Dane’s extradition is political in nature because it is meant to create fear and criminalize dissent. As long as global institutions exploit our communities for profit, people will cross nation-state boundaries to protest and make known the suffering in their home communities.
Dane is currently being held at the federal Corrections Corporation of America facility in Florence, AZ, a private prison where most of his fellow inmates are being held on immigration related “offenses”. As Dane’s supporters and friends, we extend solidarity to all those who face state repression, those in prison due to G20 protest charges, and those incarcerated for crossing nation-state boundaries. Dane has an extradition hearing set for April 16th, 2013.
