Based Russian Embassy Tweets Pepe the Frog at Theresa May

The Russian embassy in London has hilariously outraged liberals by tweeting the controversial Pepe the Frog meme to troll British Prime Minister Theresa May.

The meme, originally from an online comic called “Boy’s Club” by Matt Furie, is widely used by supporters of Donald Trump, and the basket of deplorables.

On Saturday, Trump had tweeted that he was looking forward to meeting with May, adding Britain, “a long time U.S. ally, is very special.” According to Breitbart News, she is set to be the first European leader to meet with the president-elect following his inauguration.

While many found the response from the embassy hilarious, they are now facing a slew of online backlash from commentators, who are probably “literally shaking,” while declaring that the Russian government just used a “white supremacist” symbol.

The smug frog was labeled a Nazi symbol by Hillary Clinton during her campaign, a move which was widely mocked.

“Donald Trump, Pepe the Frog, and White Supremacists: An Explainer,” an article posted to her campaign website was headlined, continuing, “That cartoon frog is more sinister than you might realize.”

Pepe, an anthropomorphic frog, is a popular meme that originated on 4chan message boards, along with many other popular memes from Doge to Scumbag Steve. It is widely used across party lines by those who enjoy internet culture.

Soon after Clinton began her war on memes, the Anti-Defamation League labeled the cartoon frog a hate symbol.

“The majority of uses of Pepe the Frog have been, and continue to be, non-bigoted. However, it was inevitable that, as the meme proliferated in on-line venues such as 4chan, 8chan, and Reddit, which have many users who delight in creating racist memes and imagery, a subset of Pepe memes would come into existence that centered on racist, anti-Semitic or other bigoted themes,” the ADL wrote of the frog.

While it has become a sort of unofficial mascot for those in the alt-right, they are not the only ones who use it — just like the memes featuring Harambe.

During the election season, Donald Trump Jr. also came under fire for tweeting a rare Pepe, which he never took down.

The London embassy recently made headlines with a tweet of a duckling and the word “lame” in response to President Barack Obama expelling 35 Russian diplomats.

To whoever is running the social media over there: don’t ever change.

Alabama House Raided After Mannequin Challenge Video Goes Viral

Madison County deputies raided a home in Huntsville, Alabama, on Tuesday, after people posed for the mannequin challenge at the residence brandishing multiple firearms.

Terry Brown, 23, and Kenneth White, 49

The mannequin challenge is an internet trend where groups of people freeze in action poses while a video is filmed. The video in question featured 22 men, with at least 19 guns of various caliber. After going viral, the footage was brought to the attention of authorities.

“Pistols and shotguns hung frozen in the air, their blunt ends aimed at various people, who remained as still as, well, mannequins,” the Washington Post described. “One man was prostrate under the back of a car, as if for cover, the barrel of his shotgun peeking out. Another hid behind a plastic trash can, flimsy protection if this were a real battle.”

Terry Brown, 23, and Kenneth White, 49, were arrested at the home, after investigators found weapons, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Law enforcement confiscated two handguns, an assault rifle, a single-barrel shotgun, a large stash of ammunition, multiple magazines, and a tactical vest.

White was charged with possession of marijuana and being a felon in possession of a firearm and Brown was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, loitering and promoting prison contraband. The prison contraband charge was due to him being booked with marijuana on his person.

“At 5:02 this morning, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, the City of Huntsville Police Department SWAT team, and also ATF were present when we executed the search warrant at that residence,” Captain Mike Salomonsky said during a press conference.

The captain confirmed that a “breaching technique” was used to enter the residence, as well as various “diversion devices.”

“You have to ask yourself a question. Why there? What’s going on at that location with all those firearms? What made it happen at that residence? We started an investigation to figure out why,” Salomonsky told Action News 5.

The Huntsville Police Department stated that they do not go out of their way to monitor local social media accounts, but used the platforms to investigate after being tipped off about the viral video.

The department has stated that more arrests may be coming in relation to the viral video.

“There are several persons in the video who may be convicted felons,” Salomonsky said. “So, we’re going to try to do some identification, work with the ATF and see if we can generate any charges out of that.”

UMass Kills Harambe All Over Again: Declares Jokes Are ‘Racist Micro-Aggressions’

Students attending the University of Massachusetts Amherst have been warned that not only are Harambe jokes “racist” and “micro-aggressions,”  but they also might be a Title IX violation if used on campus.

Harambe was a western lowland gorilla that was shot and killed at the Cincinnati Zoo in May, after a child’s parents failed to supervise their toddler and he fell into the glorious creature’s enclosure. Since the tragedy, Harambe has managed to become an internet legend who has even tied in the presidential race with Green Party candidate Jill Stein in Texas.

Harambe’s legacy doesn’t seem to matter to two resident assistants at the university who sent out a lengthy email to all first year students.

“We understand that social media has been popularizing Harambe in some crude ways, which may appear to be funny to groups of people. However, these comments are not only derogatory, but also micro-aggressions to some UMass students,” RA’s Colleen and Ryan wrote.

The RA’s explained that there is a “defined residential community” (which sounds an awful lot like segregation) where students “sharing similar heritages, ethnicities, and/or other identities are able to live together,” and the one focusing on African-American heritage happens to be named Harambe, a Swahili word for “the point where people pull together.”

“Any negative remarks regarding ‘Harambe’ will be seen as a direct attack to our campus’s African American community. Please be careful what gets written on your whiteboards, as well as what gets written on them. If you are not the one writing these remarks, please let us or the RA on duty know.”

They further went on to indirectly reference the popular phrase “dicks out for Harambe,” and warn that it could be reported as a Title IX incident — implying that it would be considered sexual harassment.

“To be very clear: using… phrases/hashtags which encourage the exposition of body parts runs the risk of being reported as a Title IX incident. These are sexual assault incidences that not only get reported to Community Standards, but also to the Dean of Students. Needless to say, it is a very serious incident—especially for a first year student!”

Good luck Colleen and Ryan, but it is safe to assume that you will continue to be triggered — considering how the Cincinnati Zoo’s own plea to stop the memes went.

The Twitter account belonging to zoo director Thane Maynard was hacked last month and was quickly morphed into a shrine to Harambe. This included replacing Maynard’s photo with one of the beloved gorilla and sending out several tweets with the popular hashtags “#DicksOutForHarambe” and “#JusticeForHarambe.”

Following the incident, Maynard stated that the jokes are very upsetting because the “zoo family is still healing” from the loss.

“We are not amused by the memes, petitions and signs about Harambe,” Maynard told the Associated Press. “Our zoo family is still healing, and the constant mention of Harambe makes moving forward more difficult for us. We are honoring Harambe by redoubling our gorilla conservation efforts and encouraging others to join us.”

The memes have not stopped, and it should probably be expected that the effort at UMass to squash free speech will go just as well.

4Chan Poster Gloriously Interrupts Clinton Alt-Right Speech

As Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton gave a speech in Reno, attempting to smear the millions of people who support her opponent Donald Trump as racist monsters — 4chan was in the building to gloriously troll the low-energy event.

Shortly before the toxic speech began, an anonymous user posted to the messageboard with a photo of a rare Pepe held up with the crowd in the background.

“At a hill rally in the top left corner of the balcony. Look for me!” the poster wrote.

Immediately, other users began urging the original poster to shout “Pepe” during the speech in an attempt to give the possibly-sick candidate a seizure, and directing them which way to move in order to get into the camera’s shot.

It was quickly confirmed that they were, in fact, inside the rally.

Then, it happened.

“This is not conservatism as we have known it. This is not Republicanism as we have know it.These are race-baiting ideas, anti-Muslim and anti-immigrant ideas, anti-woman –– all key tenets making up an emerging racist ideology known as the ‘Alt-Right,'” Clinton proclaimed during quite possibly, the most race-baiting speech of all time.

From the likely-geriatric or paid-to-be-there crowd, a voice was heard shouting — “PEPE!”

The internet crowd went wild.

“OP DID IT THE MAD MAN!!!!!!” a user wrote.

“Alt-Right is short for ‘Alternative Right,'” Clinton continued, explaining the words to her loyal subjects as she geared up to blast some serious conspiracy theories their way.

“The de facto merger between Breitbart and the Trump Campaign represents a landmark achievement for the ‘Alt-Right.’ A fringe element has effectively taken over the Republican Party,” Clinton stated, in a moment of rare truth from the candidate.

As she continued, security was seen moving to grab the brave anon, though it remains unclear if the internet’s hero was ejected from the rally or detained in any way.

4chan, like Trump himself, may not always be the hero we want — but sometimes they are the hero that we need.

Clinton immediately following the disruption.

Cincinnati Zoo Director Hacked by Harambe Lover, Asks the Internet to Stop the Memes

The Cincinnati Zoo has announced that they are “not amused” by the wave of memes celebrating their deceased silverback gorilla Harambe, after a hacker took over their director’s Twitter account in honor of the majestic animal.

Harambe

Screen shot of Maynard’s hacked account

The Twitter account belonging to zoo director Thane Maynard was hacked on Saturday evening and was quickly morphed into a shrine to Harambe. This included replacing Maynard’s photo with one of the beloved gorilla and sending out several tweets with the popular hashtags “#DicksOutForHarambe” and “#JusticeForHarambe.”

“Harambe – 1 Cincinnatizoo – 0,” one of the now-deleted tweets read.

By Sunday, Maynard still had not regained control over his account and the hacker claimed to be Twitter user @prom, who goes by the name “Bones” on the platform.

“Okay. If @CincinnatiZoo want their directors twitter back, they can dm me on @prom. I’ve had my fun,” the account tweeted.

When asked by the New York Daily News why he hacked the account, Bones stated that at “the time when it actually happened I was kinda angry at the dude who shot him,” and that he had “been sorta planning it here and there.”

The Cincinnati Zoo is not amused, however, and Maynard has stated that the jokes are very upsetting because the “zoo family is still healing” from the loss.

Harambe has managed to become an internet legend, with no signs of slowing down. He is currently tied in the presidential race with Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein in Texas and a petition to rename the Cincinnati Bengals to the Cincinnati Harambes has amassed over 20,000 signatures.

In fact, Google searches for Harambe are back to being nearly equal to what they were during the first week of June when he was killed.

Harambe was brutally shot and killed at the Cincinnati Zoo in May after the child’s parents failed to supervise their toddler and he fell into the glorious creature’s enclosure. The incident was captured on video by a witness and rapidly went viral.

As for the chances of people listening to Maynard’s plea and ceasing to meme Harambe? Let’s just say he must be new here.
