Imagine a place where police are forced to return seized marijuana and paraphernalia back to their rightful stoners if they are found not to be in violation of any law. That is exactly the type of environment one California lawmaker is hoping to establish for the state’s medical marijuana patients.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the head of the Senate Intelligence Committee, and CIA Director John Brennan sparred Tuesday over the lawmaker’s allegation that agency officials secretly had searched Senate computers, an act she said had undermined congressional intelligence oversight and may have violated the law.
The New York Times is reporting that the CIA took what Sen. Mark Udall (D-Colo.) called “unprecedented action” against the Senate Intelligence Committee in response to an investigation of the spy agency’s actions following the 9/11 attacks.
