The false notices were posted by Harvard Palestine Solidarity Committee and “formally cosigned” by Harvard Concilio Latino, the Harvard Islamic Society, and the Harvard Black Students Association.

“We regret to inform you that a resident of this dorm has been detained indefinitely due to suspicious actions, suspected violent inclinations, or suspicion of being a deportable alien (i.e. questionable residency status),” the flyers read.

On that back of the flyer, however, it tells students that it is, “not a real notice,” adding:

“However, we hope that the unsettling nature of this notice allows Harvard community members to reflect on the reality of people who face these kinds of unwarranted disruptions of life in unexplained suspicious circumstances before a state power that can hold ‘suspects’ indefinitely.”

Despite the notice being labelled as false on the back, many students still showed anger and discontent. Prompting two of the four groups that were involved in the creation of the false notice to come forward and apologize.

One of the students expressed her displeasure stating:

“I was upset mostly because I think [the flyers] didn’t take into account the feelings of people who have actually seen deportation notices or experienced the risk of deportation, or have loved ones who are at risk of deportation—their responses were not taken into account,” said Harvard student Karla V. Alvarado, whose parents used to be undocumented.

Another student, Cecilia Nunez, expressed similar sentiment:

“As a member of the Latinx and black communities, I was really disturbed by the format of the flyer and how terrifying it was for students of color and undocumented students especially to receive the notice.”

In an emailed statement provided by Fatima M. Bishtawi, co-president of the Palestine Solidarity Committee, said:

“Would like to unequivocally apologize for any trauma and pain provoked by the seriousness of this notice.”

The board of Concilio Latino also released a statement saying:

“[The fliers] are fake, but the effects they may have had on any of you are beyond real and represent something entirely antithetical to what Concilio stands for.”

Further adding that they were not fully aware of the content contained in the notices before they were distributed.

Noted by the College Fix, in 2013, the Palestine Solidarity Committee has come under fire for false notices once before for stirring up controversy surrounding Israel’s settlement policies, by posting mock eviction notices.

The Black Students Association and Islamic Society, have yet to return The Harvard Crimson’s inquires.

Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta wrote on Facebook:

“We are DEMANDING that Gwinnett County Police Department immediately terminate this officer who viciously kicked a HANDCUFFED BLACK MAN lying on the ground in the middle of the street (off Sugarloaf Parkway) without cause and without merit.

“After brutally kicking him in the face, blood splattered everywhere.”

The group stated it would now seek to have criminal charges pressed against the officer.

The Gwinnett County police department is yet to comment on the video.

This triggered a firestorm of reporters pointing out the Nazi’s use of chemical weapons in WWII.

First, let’s break down the definition of a chemical weapon:

1. “Chemical Weapons” means the following, together or separately:

(a) Toxic chemicals and their precursors, except where intended for purposes not prohibited under this Convention, as long as the types and quantities are consistent with such purposes;

(b) Munitions and devices, specifically designed to cause death or other harm through the toxic properties of those toxic chemicals specified in subparagraph (a), which would be released as a result of the employment of such munitions and devices;

(c) Any equipment specifically designed for use directly in connection with the employment of munitions and devices specified in subparagraph (b).

The Nazi’s hydrogen cyanide meets the first condition and the gas chambers would qualify as a “device” in the second.

In early 1942,  Zyklon B emerged as the preferred killing tool of Nazi Germany for use in extermination camps during the Holocaust. Hydrogen cyanide gas was pumped into gas chambers killing scores of victims at once. Including Jews, Germans, Polish, and many other ethnic groups of humans that were singled out by Nazi leaders.

In the above photographs the containers hold Zyklon B pellets that vaporize when exposed to air. During the killing process, prisoners at Auschwitz and other killing centers were forced into the air-tight chambers. The Zyklon pellets were then dumped into the chambers via special air shafts or openings in the ceiling.

Through a little research it is easy to find the use of chemical weapons most certainly occurred at the behest of Adolf Hitler. Against not only the Jewish people and many other groups, but his own. German-Jews were full citizens until they had their rights stripped away by Hitler’s totalitarian regime and they too ended up in concentration camps. Germans, or any others that were against Hitler’s regime also became victims of chemical warfare.

When asked about potential reasons why Russia would pull back its support of Syria —it’s decades long ally, Spicer apparently got some facts wrong regarding WWII stating:

“We didn’t use chemical weapons in World War II,” he said. “You had someone as despicable as Hitler who didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons. If you’re Russia, you have to ask yourself if this is a country and regime that you want to align yourself with.”

Moments later a reporter asked Spicer to clarify his remarks he stated:

“When you come to sarin gas, he was not using the gas on his own people the same way that Assad is doing.” Further adding, “he brought them into the Holocaust centers,” apparently referring to the gas chambers.

“In the way that Assad used them where he went into towns and dropped him down on innocents in the middle of town was not the same. I appreciate the clarification — that was not the intent,” Spicer said, implying that Hitler did not use chemical weapons.”

Spicer appears to be trying to limit his definition of chemical weapons to those dropped from planes or fired through cannons, as Assad has been alleged to have done, furthering that claim as well.

After the conference, Spicer back pedalled telling an NBC Reporter:

“In no way was I trying to lessen the horrendous nature of the Holocaust, however, I was trying to draw a contrast of the tactic of using airplanes to drop chemical weapons on innocent people.”

It appears Spicer has sparked some online displeasure and even outrage with his bold claims.

It is important to note that in WWII the U.S is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent human beings, through the use of nuclear and napalm strikes, though not being considered ‘chemical weapons’, I believe we can agree they belong in the same category.

Also, in the early 1950’s the government had the army deploy motorized blowers on top of residential high-rises in low-income, mostly black St. Louis neighborhoods, including areas where as much as 70% of the residents were children under 12. In an attempt to cover up what the government was actually doing, they lied claiming it was an experiment with a smokescreen to protect the city from Russian attacks. However, they were actually pumping the air full of hundreds of pounds of finely powdered zinc cadmium sulfide. The government admitted there was a second ingredient in the chemical powder, but whether or not that ingredient was radioactive remains classified. Since the tests an alarming number of local residents have developed cancer.

In closing, governments and ruling classes throughout history are responsible for using tactics such as chemical warfare against their own people. They—governments— will continue to do so and lie about it through the guise of experiments and false flag attacks. Shifting the blame on others by comparing one tyrant to another does not excuse the fact hundreds of thousands of human beings fall victim to chemical warfare at the behest of their own governments throughout history.

The Russian warship, armed with advanced Kalibr cruise missiles, a missile defense system, Shtil-1 and a 100 mm artillery piece A-90, capable of reaching speeds up to 30 knots and endurance of 30 days, is now in the eastern Mediterranean appearing to be steaming in the same direction of the two U.S. Navy Destroyers, that launched missile strikes into Syria earlier this week.

Media reports indicated that six military and nine civilians casualties occurred. Including four children and several were wounded in the act of aggression from U.S led airstrikes in Syria, in response to the gruesome chemical attack that just took placing blame on Assad’s regime, despite the lack of evidence to support this accusation and retaliation.

While blaming Assad’s regime, Russian President Vladimir Putin, “regards the strikes as aggression against a sovereign nation,” his spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, noting that the president believes the strikes were carried out “in violation of international law, and also under an invented pretext.”

The Kremlin spokesman also insisted:

“the Syrian army doesn’t have chemical weapons,” saying this had been “observed and confirmed by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, a special UN unit.”

The Russian news agency TASS reported Friday, the warship was already bound for the Syrian port of Tartus on a routine voyage stating:

“The Russian ship armed with cruise missiles Kalibr will visit the logistics base in Tartus, Syria.”

The ship was near the Black Sea Straits, TASS reported. After stopping at Novorossiisk for supplies, it is scheduled to enter the Mediterranean at approximately 14:00 Moscow time to take part in a joint exercise with Turkish ships that were also located in the Black Sea.

The frigates presence is to be expected for approximately one month, just as it’s the previous voyage lasted for the entire month of March.

As many news outlets scramble for information to fear monger and push the topic of potential threats of war from Russia in retaliation to the U.S led Syrian airstrikes, earlier this week that resulted in civilian casualties and condemnation, it is important to do further investigation through alternative sources to confirm whether or not it was intentional retaliation or a mere coincidence of events.

Brandy Miller said her daughter, Caitlin and two of her friends were playing their favorite game. One of the girls was pretending to be a Queen and the other a Princess. Caitlin pretended to be their private security guard. She grabbed a stick that resembled the appearance of a gun in order to protect the ‘Queen’ and ‘Princess’.

As Caitlin pretended to protect the girls, wielding the ‘stick gun,’ a boy ran and told a teacher who then snatched Caitlin and hauled her off to the principal’s office.

Assistant Principal Brooke Griffie stated in a letter sent to Brandy Miller that Caitlin was suspended for one day for:

“Turning a stick into a gun and threatening to shoot and kill other students.”

Hoke County school officials said in a statement “the district does not tolerate assaults, threats or harassment from any student.”

“It is our duty to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Therefore, we respond to all threats in a serious manner and take appropriate action.”

Outraged over the situation, Brandy Miller stated while she understands the strict policy, she demanded the school to apologize to Caitlin. Saying, “tell her that it is okay for her to be 5 and have an imagination.”

Miller further stated:

“She’s confused. Nobody explained anything to her.”

“One minute she is playing with her friends and the next her teachers are dragging her to the principal’s office.”

Caitlin has since returned to school Tuesday, after her one day suspension.

School suspensions similar to this occur more frequently than you may think.

Last May, a kindergarten student in Brighton, Colorado was suspended for wielding a bubble-blowing “gun” at recess.

In March 2015, a 6-year-old in Colorado Springs had the same thing happen when he pointed his index finger like a gun at a classmate while saying, “Boom-You’re dead.”

Also, in March 2013, a 7-year-old in Anne Arundel County, Maryland was suspended for nibbling a breakfast pastry into the shape of a gun.

While it is important to promote and practice a safe environment for our children, school officials must use common sense.

One would hope potential damage caused to this bright, young mind by the school officials that suspended her for playing make-believe would be alarming to educators – with steps taken to avoid similar incidents in the future.

Reported within the first two weeks of March, fifty-four percent of the respondents including the majority of Republicans, Democrats and independents had said that ‘fake news’ reports online were published on purpose to further a covert agenda.

Sixty percent also believed that mainstream news outlets reported ‘fake news’ either occasionally, or regularly with forty percent claiming they believed it was intentional due to an underlying agenda.

Seventeen percent reasoned that, due to poor fact-checking, they also believed ‘fake news’ was being reported by the mainstream media.

Approximately one-third of the respondents said they did not believe that the mainstream media was reporting ‘fake news’.

When comparing the 41 percent of independents, and 24 percent of Democrats, it was found that fifty-five percent of Republican respondents believed that ‘fake news’ was reported on intentionally by mainstream media outlets to further their agenda. Republicans were more suspicious of the motivation behind the publication of ‘fake news’ in mainstream outlets.

ABC News, Fox News, and MSNBC more trusted than President Donald Trump.

Republicans said they were more apt to trust Trump over ABC News and MSNBC. Forty-four percent of Republican respondents said they trusted Trump and Fox News equally. Whereas a variety of respondents stated they trusted sources such as ABC News, Fox News and MSNBC more than President Donald Trump.

Over eighty percent stated that prior administrations had better relations with the media than Trump.

Fifty-eight percent claimed the news media intentionally harmed Trump’s image. Thirty two percent said the news media did not affect Trump’s image and seven percent said it helped. Contrariwise, fifty-one percent said the media’s’ image was impacted negatively due to Trump. Thirty-nine percent claimed the image of the news media was not affected by Trump’s relations and the final six percent said the opposite,  that the image improved.

Proposal to outlaw “fake news?”

As the rise of ‘fake news’ continues to soar with the added mistrust of the general public, a legislative proposal has been aimed at outlawing ‘fake news’ websites. However, it has been sidelined in the California State Legislature by California Assemblyman, Ed Chau.

Tuesday’s plans were cancelled to hold a hearing for A.B. 1104, a bill that would’ve made it illegal to publish false or deceptive statements on the internet about a political candidate or ballot measure. The hearing was cancelled upon Chau’s request, according to the California legislature website.

Also known as the California Political Cyberfraud Abatement Act, Chau’s office previously called the proposal:

“An important step forward in the fight against ‘fake news’ and deceptive campaign tactics.”

The proposal would make it:

 “Unlawful for a person to knowingly and willingly make, publish or circulate on an Internet Web site, or cause to be made, published, or circulated in any writing posted on an Internet Web site, a false or deceptive statement designed to influence.”

Under heavy criticism, it was stated that the bill was in direct violation of free speech laws. However, a campaign earlier this week was still held amid First Amendment concerns.

An investigative researcher for the Electronic Frontier Foundation, Dave Maas said:

“At a time when political leaders are promoting ‘alternative facts’ and branding unflattering reporting as ‘fake news,’ we don’t think it’s a good idea to give the government more power to punish speech,”

“Political operatives could file complaints at the slightest hint of hyperbole or smallest misstatement of fact by a candidate,” he said. “Prosecutors could launch politically motivated investigations. The bill doesn’t even exempt journalism, leaving bloggers who want to quote false statements before debunking them in a legal limbo. Even satirical websites, such as The Onion, could come under fire for posting technically false information. You could even get in trouble for retweeting something inaccurate that someone else said.”

Without any public explanation, further attempts have been made to contact Chau’s office but remain unsuccessful at obtaining information regarding the status of the bill.

The polls display that the majority of the public believes the mainstream media is reporting ‘fake news’. This shocking revelation proposes a great opportunity for alternative media sources to combat against ‘fake news.’

The public is now searching for alternative news sources they can trust to provide them with accurate information.

As new bills are being proposed that are in direct violation of free speech, disguised as combating against ‘fake news,’ it is important for the public to be informed on this subject matter. Not only does this threaten the alternative news sources that are getting the truth out to the public, this will also personally affect the rights of every individual, moving us all forward when it comes to personal freedom of speech in this country.

The Bill to legalize Marijuana has been rumoured in hopes of being tabled before the symbolic date of 4/20 (April, 20th, 2017.)

We have obtained information through CBC News, that legislation will be announced during the week of April, 10th, 2017 by former liberal Justice Minister, Anne McLellan.

Last years celebrations of 4/20 were targeted by the Liberal government. They scoped this particular event to push the bill in hopes of support from the Cannabis Community.

On July 1, 2018, Ottawa will legalize the use of Marijuana for people of 18 years and older. Provinces will also be able to decide how Marijuana is priced, sold, and distributed. They will also have the option of raising the age limit if they choose.

I was curious as to what some of the provincial Premiers and Attorney General had to say regarding this matter.

Alberta Premier Rachel Notley, said, on March 27th, 2017:

As we go forward, we’ll be sure to be engaging with and consulting with Albertans about how best to do this in a way that preserves public safety, preserves health and protects our young people.

The Attorney General of Ontario, Yasir Naqvi, when asked about age limits and sales locations said this:

The government is doing very detailed analysis of all policy options. All those policy options are on the table, and we have not made any decisions.

Lastly, Ontario Premier, Kathleen Wynne said:

It makes sense to me that the liquor distribution mechanism that we have in place — the LCBO — is very well-suited to putting in place the social responsibility aspects that would need to be in place.

In brief, what this means is that the federal government will have entire control over the process involving the reproduction of Marijuana, distribution, Health and Safety. Similar to the prohibition era. We will see a full monopolization on Marijuana in Canada.

As this process continues, Canada will continue to arrest marijuana users, and put them behind bars.

Last December, Trudeau stressed that marijuana remains illegal until legislation passes.
He further continued to condemn the rise of illegal dispensaries that have popped up in Toronto.

People are right now breaking the law.

We haven’t changed the laws. We haven’t legalized it yet. Yes, we got a clear mandate to do that. We’ve said we will. We’ve said we’re going to do it to protect our kids and to keep the money out of the pockets of criminals. — Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau.

Trudeau made it clear he is not pro-pot in an interview by The Star.

Finally, to clear up the miscommunication, misinformation and overall confusion I will break down how the process of legalizing Marijuana in Canada works.

It first starts by introducing a bill.

What is a bill?
It is a proposed law that is introduced in either the House of Commons or the Senate. Bills can amend or repeal existing law or can contain completely new law. There are two kinds of bills: Public and private.

How does it become law?
A bill becomes an act of Parliament when it passes through three readings with a committee stage between the second and third readings before being passed.

In The First House

1st Reading: Formality whereby the bill is introduced to the house. The Bill is then printed in its 1st reading form.
2nd Reading: The main principle and purpose of the bill is debated. If passed, the bill is then referred to a committee for further research. Remaining in its original 1st printed form.
Committee: Committee members study the bill clause by clause. The committee may make amendments.
Report Stage: The Committee presents its report. The bill may be accepted in its 1st reading state, or with amendments made by the committee, or that it may not proceed any further. During this report stage, members can propose further amendments.
3rd Reading: The House reviews the bill in its final form and then orders the printing of the 3rd reading bill. Including any amendments made.

In The Second House:

Once a bill has passed the 3rd reading stage in the first house, the bill goes to the second house where it must pass through the same stages. The Senate may amend, delay or refuse to pass the bill. Any amendments made by the second house must be approved by the first house.

Royal Assent

Royal assent completes the enactment process. Bills may be given Royal Assent in two ways: by the Governor General or her deputy in a formal ceremony that takes place in the Senate before an assembly of both houses, or by written declaration. “Where royal assent is signified by written declaration, the Act is deemed to be assented to on the day on which the two Houses of Parliament have been notified of the declaration” (Royal Assent Act, S.C. 2002, c.15, s.5). When a bill receives Royal Assent it is given a chapter number for the Statutes of Canada.

The process has been outlined and the general public can now grasp how this process really works. One can see how the federal Government will have the final say and total control when it comes to legalizing Marijuana in Canada.

For those of you who are counting on the immediate legalization of Marijuana, don’t get your hopes up so quickly. Need I remind you this bill has not even entered the first house. The legislative process has yet to even begin. So, when you go to fill out that medicinal card registry form, think carefully as the Feds now have all of your info and know where to look in the meantime and who to bust.

As Justin Trudeau said himself, it is still illegal and arrests, raids, fines, will still be in full force, if not more.

Key things to look for in the future:
The 2019 elections and The Liberal Government, once again pulling the Cannabis Community support card in hopes for a bigger turn out at the polls.

Now, new reports are being published providing us with recent attacks in detailed information. It appears racially motivated attacks are continuing to this present day.

Last month in February 2017, on a remote farm in Dullstroom, a small town in the northeast of South Africa, about 150 miles from the nearest capital city, a British woman named Sue Howarth, 64, and her husband Robert Lynn, 66, were disturbed at 2 a.m. The couple, residents of area for 20 years, awoke to three men in balaclavas breaking into a window of their home.

“I woke up because the dogs were barking and there was a racket at the bedroom window. After I stood up, I heard glass breaking. I suppose that is when they started shooting at us. I assumed they missed,” Lynn said.

The couple, in pajamas, were then loaded up in their own truck and driven to a roadside where they were dumped off and shot.

The attack and the shooting

One of the unidentified men wearing balaclavas hit Lynn over the head with his gun and ordered him to lie down. His hands were bound with baling twine.

Lynn continued, “They kept on asking where the money is. I told them that we don’t keep the money, but they would not believe me.”

He handed his attackers a money clip and his bank cards telling them they would be able to withdraw R1,000 a day from his accounts, plus the couple of hundred Rand he had in the money clip.

Lynn was then taken into the living room, covered with a blanket and shortly after his attackers began burning his legs and chest. The robbers began stabbing and cutting him with a knife to get him to confess more information they thought he was hiding.

‘They were looking for things we just don’t have. I said to them that whoever gave them their information, gave them the wrong information. One of them replied with ‘No they didn’t,” Lynn stated.

Still calling to his wife who did not answer, Lynn was smacked over the head with a gun and told to shut up. He was then put into the back of their Nissan Hardbody double cab, where the gunmen pulled a bag over his head. Lynn finally heard his wife, Susan, moaning as she was thrown into the back as well.

At first, Lynn thought they were driving to Dullstroom to withdraw money. However, they turned around and headed towards the back roads past Belfast and Siyathuthuka towards Stoffberg instead.

“They kept on stopping and going. When they stopped for good, they pulled me out of the vehicle by my hair,” continued Lynn.

The attackers then walked him into a field where he had to crawl through a barbed wire fence and was ordered onto his knees.

“That was the last thing I remember. I thought I was dead after that until I looked up and saw the stars,” Lynn said.

It took quite some time before Lynn could free himself and crawl back to the road. When Lynn was successful at freeing himself, he crawled to the road where he could hear Susan moaning. He crawled across the ditch to the other side and found her lying there, hands tied behind her back and bleeding from the head.

“I didn’t know what to do. I could see that she was in a very bad state. I could sit with her but the best thing would be to try and get help. So I stood next to the road. Five trucks and two cars passed me. Hooting as they did,” Lynn said.

Miraculously, Lynn survived and managed to wave down someone passing by. Howarth, who police said was “unrecognizable” from her injuries, had multiple skull fractures, gunshot wounds and “horrific” burns to her breasts.

Howarth also had a bag stuffed down her throat. How she managed to survive that long, breathing with a bag in her throat remains a mystery. She was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support. Sadly, two days later at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday morning, Susan Howarth passed away from her injuries never regaining consciousness after the attack.

Sue Howarth was well known at sheepdog trials in the area.

“Susan was a great girl. She imported ingredients for pharmaceutical products, like the active ingredient in Guronzan C,” Said Flynn.

Lynn has since returned home, to deal with the sadness and mourn the loss of his best friend and is trying to pick up the pieces in Dullstroom.

He says that he was amazed at how good people have been to him. But he will never be able to forget what evil people are capable of.

Not an isolated incident

Attacks such as this and others being reported are horrific and unfathomable. But in South Africa, attacks of this nature are frequent. So far, this year, there has been over an estimated amount of 70 attacks and approximately 25 murders in similar attacks against white farmers.

Although the government believes that biggest motive for attacks is robbery, there is racial discontent on some farms. White farmers believe that attacks are racially motivated.

Another attack earlier this month, a woman named Nicci Simpson was found, along with three dead dogs. Simpson was found lying in a pool of blood, where the attackers “used a drill to torture her,”  police spokesman Lungelo Dlamini stated.

As more and more attacks continue to happen in South Africa, the government and law enforcement agencies continue to deny such allegations of a potential genocide that could be manifesting.

Police have stated that they cannot provide effective protection due to the large geographical areas that need to be monitored. A lack of funding is another factoring cause, they also claimed.

Police forces are simply not available due to funding and fail at providing any sufficient help currently.

‘Farmwatch’ groups have linked together through the radio to nearby farmers who can provide mutual assistance. Local private security is growing as it is more likely to respond and be on site quicker. Local voluntary groups that come together for mutual assistance and protection stand a far better chance at defending against these brutal attacks and preventing them in the future.

What is it? A hand held military Doppler radar device, as described in a suppressed hearing at a Denver court by a police officer. He added:

“It picks up breathing, human breathing and movement within a house.”

In the Denver case, police were trying to apprehend someone who allegedly had violated his parole.

This allows Police, FBI, Military and any other Government agents to effectively ‘see’ through our walls. To see whether anybody is inside without first obtaining a warrant. The ‘Range-R’ device raises legal and privacy issues.

The U.S. Supreme Court has said officers generally cannot use high-tech sensors to tell them about the inside of a person’s home without first obtaining a search warrant. Those agencies, including the FBI and the U.S. Marshals Service, began deploying the radar systems more than two years ago.

Very little notice was given to the courts along with no public disclosure of when or how they would be utilized. This new practice is raising concerns about the extent of government surveillance.

The Range-R manufacturers explain that the device is to be held against a wall. Users then push a couple of buttons that send radar pulses through the wall to detect if anyone is inside.

The device covers a conical view of 160 degrees and a range of 50 feet. The ‘Range-R, “will penetrate most common building wall, ceiling or floor types — including poured concrete, concrete block, brick, wood, stucco glass, adobe, dirt. It will not penetrate metal.”

Manufacturers said, L3 Communications, told USA Today even though the device is valued at $6000.00 USD. Approximately 200 devices have been sold to US law enforcement agencies.

Is the cost of infringing upon our privacy money well spent? In the eyes of big brother it is.

March 23rd, 2017  – Wikileaks has released CIA Vault7 “Dark Matter,” and the newest leak contains several documents of CIA projects that infect Apple Mac computer firmware. Developed by the CIA’s embedded Development Branch (EDB), these documents explain the techniques used by the CIA to gain ‘persistence’ on Apple Mac devices and iPhones. This means that the infection persists even if the operating system is reinstalled.

Sonic Screwdriver 

Included in these documents are projects such as “Sonic Screwdriver“, among others. Explained by the CIA, this project is a “mechanism for executing code on peripheral devices while a mac laptop or desktop is booting” allowing an attacker to boot its attack software, as an example, from a USB stick, “even when a firmware password is enabled”. The Sonic Screwdriver infector is stored on the modified firmware of an Apple Thunderbolt-to-Ethernet adapter.

Dark Sea Skies

“DarkSeaSkies” is “an implant that persists in the EFI firmware of an Apple MacBook Air computer” and consists of “DarkMatter”, “SeaPea” and “NightSkies”, respectively EFI, kernel-space and user-space implants.

Triton, Dark Mallet, DerStake1.4

Documents included on the “Triton” MacOSX malware, it’s infector “Dark mallet” and it’s EFI-persistent version “DerStake” can also be found in this release. DerStake1.4 manual released today dates to 2013, other Vault 7 documents display that as of 2016 the CIA is continuing to rely on and update these systems. The production of DerStake2.0 is currently taking place.

NightSkies 1.2

The release also contains the manual for the CIA’s “NightSkies 1.2” a “beacon/loader/implant tool”, for the Apple iPhone. Note that NightSkies reached 1.2 by 2008 and is expressly designed to be physically installed onto factory restored phones.  The iPhone supply chain is targeted and has been infected by the CIA since 2008.

While in the custody of a target, CIA assets are sometimes used to physically infect systems. It is very likely that many CIA physical access attacks have infected the targeted organization’s supply chain by interdicting mail orders and other shipments. Meaning to open, infect and resend which then leaves the United States or otherwise.
